Crown Developes a New Full Aperture End for Metal Can

Crown has developed a new full aperture end for metal can designed for Belgium-based Anheuser-Busch InBev’s (AB InBev) Budweiser. The 360 End allows the entire can lid to be removed, turning the can itself into a drinking cup.

Crown claims the new 200 diameter end represents the first commercial application of full aperture ends in Asia.

The 100% recyclable 360 End is produced using a combination of Crown's food can and beverage can technology.

AB InBev APAC procurement vice-president Ricardo Dias said the metal can is a new product with a specific goal improving the drinking experience for Budweiser consumers.

"The unique size, ultra high quality graphics and full aperture end will also reinforce the positioning of Budweiser as a premium brand for aspiring and affluent Chinese consumers," Dias said.

The 150ml container, which is currently produced in Europe, is slated for limited release in China. Post initial launch, production will be based in China.
