The firm has appointed Mark Foster as head of marketing EMEA.

TOMY has welcomed former Hasbro European marketing director, Mark Foster to the role of head of marketing EMEA.

With what the firm has described as a ‘spectacular coup’, the Japanese toy giant now believes it is ‘poised for a major offensive across Europe.’

Foster (pictured above left) joins the TOMY team alongside the recently appointed senior vice president of EMEA operations Hans-Jurgen Koot (above centre) and a new UK sales director Fred Wolff (above right).

“Right now at TOMY there is a fantastic buzz about the future,” said Foster, who held various roles at Hasbro for nearly 20 years.

“As a top five toy company globally, TOMY has been historically under-represented in Europe – so the region is now a major focus as a growth opportunity for the business.

“There’s a lot of new faces and expertise recently joined the European senior management team and we all share one thing in common: a belief that TOMY has enormous potential just waiting to be unleashed.”

Meanwhile, with over 20 years experience in retail, Koot boasts a wide experience of managing complex restructuring and merge projects across Europe.

Finally, as the firm’s new UK sales director, Wolff will focus on creating a more strategic relationship with TOMY’s UK retailers.

“We have recruited from both inside and outside of the toy industry, to put together a management team I believe is as strong as any in the global toy industry,” added Nicolai Lindhardt, senior management team, executive vice president Europe.

“This is our investment in talent as we plan for substantial growth across Europe.”
