Jeep Has Covered Global Sales of 701,626 Units That Increased 19% in 2012 Compared to 2011

Jeep, a brand of Chrysler Group, has reported global sales of 701,626 units in 2012, a 19% increase compared to the sales in 2011.

The increase in sales of 94% in the Asia-Pacific, European markets by 29%, Latin America by 18% and China by 107% has resulted in the increase in 2012.

Jeep Brand president, CEO Mike Manley said that the Jeep brand has achieved double-digit percentage sales increases in each of the past three years, both globally and in the US market.

"We expect to continue our sales momentum in 2013 with the introduction of an all-new mid-size Jeep SUV, as well as the new 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which will be available with a new, clean-diesel engine," Manley added.

The global sales in 2012 was led by Grand Cherokee with 223,196 units, followed by the Wrangler with sales of 194,142 units and Jeep Compass that recorded sales of 103,321 units.

In the US, about 62,010 units of Jeep Patriot were sold while Grand Cherokee recorded sales of 154,734 vehicles in 2012.
