Solar-grade crystalline silicon wafer maker Sino-American Silicon Products (SAS) will have its subsidiary maker Sunrise Global Solar Energy expand annual production capacity for PERC (passivated emitter and rear cell) P-type monocrystalline silicon solar cells from 500MWp currently to 850MWp in 2015, according to SAS.
Sunrise Global will rent solar cell maker Unitech Solar's factory in northern Taiwan for the capacity expansion, with expansion consisting of remodeling existing 100MWp polycrystalline solar cell equipment for production of PERC monocrystalline solar cells and adding equipment for 250MWp, SAS indicated.
