Growth in The Segment Is Expected to Flatten in 2014 Is Expected to Surpass 60%

LED residential lighting shipments are expected to increase 52.7% on year in Japan during 2013. However, growth in the segment is expected to flatten in 2014 as LED bulb ownership within the nation is expected to surpass 60%, according to Digitimes Research.

LED ceiling light shipments are expected to grow 27.3% in the Japan market during 2014, however, which should help vendors make up for declines in the residential lighting segment, Digitimes Research added.

In terms of ceiling light shipments in Japan, Panasonic is expected to hold a 30% proportion in 2013 while second-tier vendors are likely to increase their share to 22.4%, said Digitimes Research.
