LG Unveiled Four New MID-Range Smartphones Ahead of Their Full MWC 2015 Showing

LG has unveiled four new mid-range smartphones ahead of their full MWC 2015 showing.

It's claimed that the LG Magna, the LG Spirit, the LG Leon, and the LG Joy have "design elements and features usually reserved for premium models," and all four will ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The LG Magna and the LG Spirit sport a gently curved design, which also includes their displays - albeit in a rather less pronounced way than the LG G Flex 2.

All four devices appear to run on the same 1.2GHz or 1.3GHz quad-core CPU (it appears to vary according to region), but their displays differ. The LG Magna features a 5-inch 720p in-cell display, while the LG Spirit has a 4.7-inch 720p screen. Both use in-cell displays, which is typically a high-end piece of screen technology that makes the panels slimmer and the pictures pop.

Lower down the range, the LG Leon has a 4.5-inch FWVGA (854 x 480) display, while the LG Joy brings up the rear with a 4-inch WVGA (800 x 480) screen.

All come with 1GB or RAM and 8GB of internal storage, although the low-end LG Joy also comes with a 512MB/4GB variant.

As for cameras, all but the LG Joy have 8-megapixel main cameras and 5-megapixel front-facing cameras. The Joy has a 5-megapixel rear and VGA front.

There'll be LTE and 3G versions of all four, with the difference between the two network configurations being reflected in a metallic rear cover for the LTE and a plastic one for the 3G.

LG will start rolling out its new mid-range offerings this week in select markets, while you'll be able to go hands-on with the LG Magna, the LG Spirit, the LG Leon, and the LG Joy at Mobile World Congress from next Monday.
