Gazprom May Start Providing The UK with Gas Via The Nord Stream Pipeline in 2016

Gazprom may start providing the UK with gas via the Nord Stream Pipeline in 2016. Russia and the UK have already started discussing the initiative.

Nord Stream runs under the Baltic Sea from Russia's Vyborg to Germany's Greifswald to export gas to Europe. The pipeline has a capacity of 27.5 billion cubic meters. The shareholders of the project are Gazprom with 51% of shares, Wintershall Holding GmbH of Germany with 15.5%, E ON Ruhrgas AG Germany with 15.5%, NV Nederlandse Gasunie (Netherlands) with 9% and GDF SUEZ (France) with 9%
