German carmaker BMW is planning to launch the new i4 concept electric coupe at the upcoming 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show in the US to be held during 30 November 2012 to 09 December 2012.
The new electric vehicle (EV) concept is expected to be powered by a plug-in system with an electric motor which will generate total output of 168hp and 250Nm of torque.
Mated to a single-speed transmission, the drivetrain is claimed to allow the EV to sprint from 0-62mph in about 8 seconds and its range extender system is expected to offer enhanced range.
The upcoming two seated i4 Concept is claimed to be the sportier version of the carmaker's i3 electric compact and will adopt the carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) technology as deployed in the i3 EV.
BMW is expected to begin sales of i3 EV in 2013.
