TCL Has Been Appointed as The National President of The EFI

Mr R Mukundan, managing director, Tata Chemicals (TCL), has been appointed as the National President of the Employers’ Federation of India (EFI), one of the bodies representing India at the International Labour Organisation (ILO) in Geneva.

Mr Mukundan started his career with Tata group, and has been associated with the company for the last 24 years. He joined Tata Administrative Service (TAS) in 1990, after completing his MBA from FMS, Delhi University. He is an engineer from IIT, Roorkee, and an alumnus of Harvard Business School.

In the last two decades of his association with Tata, Mr Mukundan has held various positions of responsibility, including Strategy & Business Development, Operations, Corporate Quality, Corporate Planning, Projects, etc., across the Chemical, Automotive and Hospitality sectors of the Tata group. He has been on the Executive Committees of various industry forums, including Indian Chemical Council, Automotive Component Manufacturers Association, Alkali Manufacturers Association of India, The Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India, and Chairman, CII Western Region Council.

EFI is one of the leading bodies representing India at the ILO in India and Geneva and is also an important constituent of the tripartite Indian Labour Conference, various tripartite fora of the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India and the State Governments. An association of autonomous industry organizations, EFI is India’s premier federation of employers, an apex body which aims to protect, promote and champion the interests of industrial employees in the areas of industrial relations, labour problems and cognate matters.

The EFI has a distinguished history with eminent personalities like Sir Homi Mody, Naval Tata and Keshub Mahindra serving as past Presidents. Mr Rajiv Dubey was the immediate Past President of the federation
