Pickit and Packit has reported a swift start to 2013 after introducing new work transporters and an automatic coder. Specialist potato supplier WCF Horticulture has said it is anticipating strong demand for Summer Planting seed potatoes this year following the prolonged cold spring. The Scottish business grows and packs the potatoes and is the only Safe Haven-accredited seed potato packer in the UK.

Staff at Pontefract-based contract packer Dekapak have raised £820 for Comic Relief. Employees at the business, which counts Cadbury and Nestlé among its clients, raised the money in March by a cake sale for both members of staff and the public.
