Invista Has Bagged The 'innovation Upgrade Award' From China Chemical Industry News

Integrated producer of chemical intermediates, polymers and fibres, Invista has bagged the ‘Innovation Upgrade Award’ from China Chemical Industry News.

According to Invista, it received the award for its outstanding achievement and constant pursuit of innovation and industry transformation.

The Innovation Upgrade Award recognizes companies that make outstanding contributions in corporate responsibility, environmental protection, sustainable development and safe operations.

In March this year, Invista began construction on its new hexamethylene diamine (HMD) and nylon 6,6 polymer plants at the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park in China.

“This strategic investment demonstrates commitment to our customers to develop the local nylon and polyurethane markets,” Invista said.

The 215,000 tons per annum HMD plant and the 150,000 tons per annum polymer plant are expected to start up in 2015 and 2016, respectively.

In the past year, Invista also opened a carpet technology research and testing laboratory and an applied technology laboratory to support auto, performance apparel and home textile sectors in China.

“Together with the China Textile Research Centre, our investments in innovation and technology can help provide customers with more efficient technologies, quality services and innovative solutions,” it informed.

“We are honoured to receive this award and Invista is committed to the Chinese market,” said Julie Walton, director, Government & Public Affairs, Asia Pacific.

Invista owns or licenses more than 1,000 patent families and has 75 years of expertise in nylon technologies.

In China, Invista has manufacturing facilities in Qingpu and Foshan, and regional offices in Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.

Headquartered in the US, Invista operates in more than 20 countries and has about 10,000 employees. (AR)
