EU:The Expiry Review of The AD Duty on Ferrosilicon Imports From China and Russia

The European Commission has announced the final result of the expiry review of the antidumping (AD) duty on ferrosilicon imports from China and Russia, indicating that the revocation of the duties is likely to result in continuation or recurrence of dumping, given the available spare ferrosilicon capacity in China and the relatively attractive price level in the EU market.

The EU also stated that given the fact that the EU market is one of the largest markets in the world, and the expected pressure on Chinese exports in Southeast Asia, it can be concluded that the Chinese exporters are likely to increase their exports to the EU at dumped prices should the antidumping measures be repealed.

The expiry review initiated in February 2013 covered the period between January 1 and December 31 2012.
