NG Baily Will Continue to Manage Ministry of Defence (MoD) Voice and Data Networks

IT services provider NG Baily will continue to manage Ministry of Defence (MoD) voice and data networks after being awarded an extension to its contract by BT.

The extended contract will see NG Baily responsible for taking care of networks across more than a quarter of a million MoD buildings, communication rooms and underground cables. It forms part of the Defence Fixed Telecommunications Service (DFTS) agreement that supports communications across more than 210 military bases.

NG Bailey has been maintaining the networks since 2009, helping the MoD to ensure continuity and reliability of its entire communications infrastructure. The extension will provide further standardisation and better predictability of service, enabling the MoD to make better decisions about its communications infrastructure.

"The continuity and reliability of communications is important for the UK's Armed Forces and NG Bailey looks forward to working with BT for a further two years to deliver this integral programme of activity," said Bob Dunnett, managing director of NG Bailey's IT services division.

"We are proud to be at the heart of the long-term programme of MoD communications development, and NG Bailey has played an instrumental part in that," added David Wilson, vice president for defence and security at BT Global Services.

"We are delighted to be continuing to work together with them through this contract extension."
