Skoda Has Unveiled The Third Generation Octavia

Czech carmaker Skoda, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, has unveiled the third generation Octavia which the company claims will consume low fuel.

Compared to the second generation, the new Octavia is 90mm long and 45mm wide, with the wheelbase increasing by 108mm.

The GreenLine version of the new Octavia will consume 3.4 litres of diesel per 100km and achieves CO2 emissions of 89 g/km.

The new Octavia will feature eight powertrains and manual as well as automatic DSG transmissions radio and radio navigation systems.

The new Octavia is expected to go on sale in Europe by March 2013 and the company is also planning to unveil a sporty Skoda Octavia RS.

In October 2012, Volkswagen had revealed plans to offer the Golf 7's engine lineup to share it with the new 2014 Skoda Octavia generation, to reduce production costs.
