Woodworking Machinery Supplier Ney Ltd's Factory Has Been Destroyed in a Major Fire

Coventry-based woodworking machinery supplier Ney Ltd’s factory has been destroyed in a major fire. West Midlands Fire Service was called to the 75, 000ft2 site on Middlemarch Business Park near Coventry Airport at 5.10pm yesterday. Fifteen fire crews from two counties were fighting the blaze at its peak. Crews were still at the scene this morning and the cause of fire has yet to be established. The fire service said 100% of the 20x100m building was affected by the fire. Ney, established in 1976, moved to the Middlemarch site in 2002, when its annual turnover was about £14m. In recent years it had extended it services and products to offer a large range of consumables such as edging, stocking more than 16, 000m of edging and over 3, 000 different stock lines. Machinery brands distributed include Masterwood CNC machining centres, Sicar saws, Futura planer/moulders, Paolini spindle moulders and Kolmag and Simimpianti membrane presses.
