Walki Group Has Been Provided with a New 10,500m2 Light Production Facility

Technical laminates and protective packaging materials producer Walki Group has been provided with a new 10,500m2 light production facility in Wroclaw, Poland.

It has been developed by Goodman, a global property group, which owns, develops and manages logistics space.

The construction of the facility commenced in September 2012 and the Walki Group was handed over the facility in May 2013.

The company's third facility, which will concentrate on specialized production serving the forest industry and consumer packaging segments, will begin operations in the third quarter of 2013.

Around 50 people will be given employment initially.

Goodman Poland reginal director Blazej Ciesielczak said the task of developing the Wroclaw facility was challenging for their team as they had to tailor the technical specifications to meet the exact requirements of Walki Group's production processes.

"We expect that the flexible approach which enabled Goodman to deliver to Walki's exacting requirements will not only enable them to run a successful operation in Wroclaw, but also demonstrates that customer focus is at the heart of everything we do," said Blazej Ciesielczak.

Walki Group project pirector Timo Saahko said they were creating a solid base for themselves in Central and Eastern Europe.

"Developing a new facility in Wroclaw presented a significant organisational challenge for Walki and a complex task for the developer, which is why we are particularly pleased with Goodman's performance," Saahko.
