Wesfarmers' Officeworks Has Reported a Record Result for The 12 Months to 30 June 2014

Wesfarmers’ Officeworks has reported a record result for the 12 months to 30 June 2014.

The business achieved total sales of $1.57 billion, up 4.7 per cent on the prior year. Earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) of $103 million, up 10.8 per cent on the prior year, represented the eleventh consecutive half of earnings growth delivered by the business.

Officeworks’ ‘every channel’ strategy is said to have continued to gain momentum with its customers during the year, with sales and transaction growth achieved both in-store and online. Officeworks’ online store now represents 12 per cent of overall sales and store transactions grew for the thirteenth consecutive half.

Officeworks has launched a new web platform, extended product ranges and new services. The business also continued to make significant investments in growing its B2B account team and on the in-store environment, with new layouts and expanded ranging rolled out across the majority of its stores.

Six new stores were opened during the year, bringing the network across Australia to 151 Officeworks stores and one Harris Technology business centre.
