Both the companies that were owned by Midcon Holdings specialize in manufacturing custom point of purchase and point of sale corrugated displays and corrugated packaging for the consumer packaged goods industry.

Arbor Investments established MidCon Holdings in 2008 to complete the purchase of Midland Packaging and Display.

Great Lakes Packaging was purchased by MidCon in December 2011 which then put both the companies together to form one unit to manufacture products for the corrugated packaging industry.

The two companies primarily focus on customers from Wisconsin, Minnesota and Illinois and deliver to the food and beverage industries throughout the upper Midwest.

Speaking about the sale, MidCon Holdings CEO Sieg Buck said: "The Midland and Great Lakes teams have come together and built a formidable corrugated packaging supplier in the greater Milwaukee area. We have been extremely happy with the growth of the companies under Terry's and Jim's leadership."

While Midland is led by Terry Skalmoski who acts as a president for the company, Great Lakes is headed by Jim Nelson.

Arbor Investments partner Richard Boos said: "Arbor's investment in MidCon is a story of phenomenal growth against the backdrop of a tepid macroeconomic environment."

Commenting on the transaction, Arbor Investments vice-president Brody Lynn said: "The MidCon investment has been another excellent Fund II investment and a real success story in the corrugated industry."

While Robert W Baird and Company acted as exclusive financial advisor for MidCon Holdings, DLA Piper served as MidCon's legal counsel. von Briesen and Roper served as counsel to Green Bay.
