SCLAA,AIP and APPMA Have Had The Christmas Party Theme for Five Years in a Row

The Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia (SCLAA), the AIP and APPMA have had the Christmas party theme for five years in a row. The annual pack-a-hamper Christmas party was attended by 130 people this year. They packed a record 800 hampers.

Those hampers have been sent to Foodbank, to be distributed to people in need at Christmas - families living on the poverty line with young children and people without employment among them.

Ken McMillan, general manager of Foodbank Queensland commented, ”The Foodbank Hamper project is wonderful – you are all good people who are helping 800 families at Xmas. I can guarantee that the people who receive these hampers this year will cry because the hampers show that someone actually cares.”

The packing of the hampers was a culmination of twelve months of work. More than $136,000 worth of goods was collected to go inside the hampers, with many generous companies across the country assisting with the goods collection. This year’s hampers are worth over $170 each and are made up of food and personal hygiene products

In five years the SCLAA, in conjunction with the AIP, the APPMA and the Queensland Supply Chain and Logistics Conference (QSCLC), have packed 3200 hampers with a value exceeding $386,000.
