Huntsman's Pigments Division Has an Industry Award for Its Altiris Pigment

Huntsman's Pigments division has an industry award for its new Altiris  infrared reflecting pigment. The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) award for innovative product of the year was presented to Rob Portsmouth, business development director, at last week’s IChemE 2012 Awards dinner in Manchester, UK. "This is a fantastic achievement," said Portsmouth. "It is international industry recognition of the value of our innovation and of the engagement and commitment of everyone involved in the development and manufacture of Altiris pigment.”

“Chemical engineers are working all over the world on innovative projects and finding solutions to some of the biggest challenges facing society today – a growing demand for secure and sustainable energy, access to clean and plentiful water supplies, food and nutrition and societal health and wellbeing,” said IChemE CEO David Brown. “The IChemE Awards give us a platform to recognize some of the best work taking place all over the world throughout the chemical and process engineering community.”

Huntsman’s Altiris pigment was launched at the American Coatings Show in May this year. It was developed to help provide a wide range of solar-reflecting colorful coatings and polymers that can help reduce energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
