Swedish Firm Duni Buys Majority Stake in Biopac UK

Sweden-based Duni has purchased a 75% stake in Kindtoo, trading as Biopac UK, from entrepreneurs Mark Brigden and Eric Graham for an undisclosed sum.

Established in 2002, Biopac UK provides sustainable disposable packaging solutions for the customers in the food and beverage sectors.

Duni will include the acquired business in its business area meal service.    

The company is specialized in creating food packaging and service products by using sustainable materials.

Biopac UK can customize food and drink packaging products as per the specifications of customer brands.

The firm’s biodegradable packaging solutions are suitable for the caterers, restaurants, delis, cafes, takeaways and coffee shops.

Biopac UK produces products such as colddrink cups, straws, hotdrink cups, coldfood containers, ice cream and dessert pots, hot food containers, soup containers, pizza packaging, food trays and bags.

Duni CEO Johan Sundelin said: “We welcome Biopac into the Duni family. The clear shift in demand towards sustainable products in the restaurant and takeaway segments is a leading factor in this acquisition. We look forward to working with the Biopac team.”

Based in Malmö, Duni supplies convenient products for table setting and take-away. Duni brand name is marketed in over 40 markets.

With around 2,300 employees in 23 countries, the company operates production units in Sweden, Germany, Poland, Thailand and New Zealand.
