Time Is Running out to Secure Your Space at 2013 Edition of Packaging for Retail Success

Time is running out to secure your space at the 2013 edition of Packaging for Retail Success – the UK's leading event joining the dots between packaging, retail and new product development.

Packaging for Retail Success 2013, sponsored by DS Smith Packaging, Sun Branding Solutions and MMR, will provide packaging experts and NPD specialists with the unique opportunity to discuss the key challenges facing the UK's biggest brands and retailers.

Organised in collaboration between Packaging News and the Quality Food Awards and taking place at Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London, on Thursday 7 November, the conference will provide great insight into how to combine the expertise of retailers, brand owners and packaging firms to create the perfect consumer experience.

Delegates will pick up tips and examples about how to combine NPD insight with packaging know-how to create great products right through design, graphics, format, logistics, shelf positioning, usability and recyclability.

In addition, with an audience spanning own-label and branded NPD experts as well as those from the packaging design and production community, it's a unique networking opportunity to build bridges across the packaging and product chain.

Packaging for Retail Success likes to bring you novel angles on the food and drink NPD world. For 2013 we are proud to present Fraser Doherty, the 24-year-old multi-award winning young entrepreneur and founder of the Superjam brand, who will tell the story of how he became the youngest ever supplier to a major supermarket chain when Waitrose launched his range in 2007. With his business now spanning books and events, and his products stocked in more than 2,000 supermarkets worldwide, Doherty will also discuss the role of branding and packaging in the success of his start-up.

The day will also feature a range of insights direct from the retail community, including Harrods director of foods Bruce Langlands, Iceland own-label controller Ian Schofield and Wilkinson own-label packaging manager Phil Huggett.

All three will discuss the interplay between product and packaging innovation in their businesses and the challenges and opportunities they see in specifying and designing packaging for their own-label products.

The day will feature a case study with leading design agency Dragon Rouge's creative director Marie-Therese Cassidy teaming up with Julia Lowbridge, marketing manager innovation at Danone to reveal all on the strategy, retail relationship, design and results of the recent launch of new high-end yogurt brand Danio.

The day will also feature talks from a range of packaging, product and retail experts giving their independent insight into the worlds of packaging and retail. Ed Garner, head of communications at market-leading retail research group Kantar Worldpanel, will survey the forces at work in the nation's biggest retailers.

Terry Morgan, market development director at DS Smith Packaging, will share the very latest thinking in secondary packaging while Andy Johnson, business unit director of Sun Branding Solutions, Stergios Bititsios, associate director for packaging and design at research business MMR and Andrew Revel, commercial manager at the Faraday Centre for Retail Excellence,? will share their insights on the latest challenges and trends for packaging in the retail space.
