2013 Gx 460 Suv Is Launched by Lexus

Japanese automaker Toyota's luxury vehicle division, Lexus, has unveiled the new 2013 GX 460 SUV.

The new SUV is powered by a 4.6-litre V8 engine mated to a six-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with sequential shift, which generates an output of 301hp and 329 lb-ft of peak torque.

Features of the 32-valve DOHC engine include aluminium alloy cylinder heads and a block with dual Variable Valve Timing with Intelligence (VVT-i), which enhances power, fuel efficiency and emissions by controlling the valve timing and overlap on the intake and exhaust camshafts.

Safety features of the new SUV include the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS), roll-sensing side curtain airbags, active front headrests and adaptive front-lighting system (AFS) in addition to high intensity discharge (HID) headlights.

The car also feature adaptive variable suspension (AVS), available adjustable height control (AHC), vehicle stability control (VSC), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD) and brake assist (BA) features to enhance the vehicle perfomance.

In addition, GX 460 SUV features hill-start assist control (HAC), downhill assist control (DAC) and active traction control (A-TRAC).

According to Lexus, the new GX 460 offers a combined fuel economy of 17 mpg.
