WFSGI Will Hold a Public Meeting at The Taipei Cycle Show This Month.

The World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry, which represents the bike industry to the UCI and the International Olympic Committee, will hold a public meeting at the Taipei Cycle Show this month.

In 2009 the WFSGI created a bicycle committee that absorbed the Global Organization of Cycling Equipment Manufacturers, a group formed in reaction to the UCI's equipment rule changes, in particular the "UCI Approved" frame sticker program.

Since February 2012, 16 new members have joined the World Federation, giving it a total of more than 200 direct members. New members include Mavic, Campagnolo and Schwalbe.

The bicycle group has formed four different bicycle working groups: steering, technical, wheel and Bicycle CSR committee.

"The industry has been confronted with new homologation processes and technical regulations by the UCI. Besides the existing rules, the WFSGI has been working on further clarifications and has been collaborating with the UCI to find solutions for the wheel safety requirements," a WFSGI press statement said.
