Annual Inflation in The Euro Area Increased by 0.2% in October-November

Annual inflation in the euro area was 0.9 percent in November this year, up from 0.7 percent recorded in October, according to a report released by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Communities. In November last year, the annual inflation rate was 2.2 percent. Meanwhile, monthly inflation was -0.1 percent in November of the current year.

Meanwhile, in the European Union (EU-28) annual inflation was 1.0 percent in November, up from 0.9 percent recorded in October. In the same month of the previous year, the annual inflation rate in the EU-27 was 2.4 percent, while the monthly inflation was -0.1 percent in November this year.

In November of the current year, annual inflation in the EU-28 fell in 11 states, remained stable in three, and increased in 13 states as compared with October of the current year. In November, the lowest annual inflation rates were observed in Greece (-2.9%), Bulgaria (-1.0%) and Cyprus (-0.8%), and the highest in Estonia (2.1%), Finland (1.8%) and Germany (1.6%).

The lowest 12-month averages up to the end of November this year were registered in Greece (-0.7%), Latvia (0.2%) and Sweden (0.5%), and the highest in Romania (3.5%), Estonia (3.4%) and the Netherlands and Croatia (both with 2.7%).
