Kiefel, the German manufacturer of thermoforming machines and a unit of Brückner Group, has announced to acquire 100% stake in Mould & Matic Solutions, an Austrian supplier of tools and of automation solutions to the packaging industry, from Haidlmair Group.
The deal, however, is subject to the approval of the government authorities. Terms of the agreement were undisclosed.
Brückner Group, a global maker of equipment and factory systems for the packaging and plastics industry, expects the acquisition to mark a step ahead in its growth strategy.
Kiefel CEO Thomas Halletz said: "The expertise and technological solutions supplied by Mould & Matic are an ideal complement to our existing range of products for the packaging industry.
"This constitutes, together with the recent acquisition of Bosch Sprang, an important milestone in our efforts to offer customers the complete range of systems and services from a single source - from product development right up to downstream equipment."
The divestment is a part of Haidlmair Group's effort to focus more on its core business.
Haidlmair Group CEO Mario Haidlmair said: "We have decided to sell because we are convinced that Mould & Matic will be perfectly at home with its new owner - a family business just like our own - where it can continue to develop efficiently as a useful addition to the existing product portfolio."
In February, Kiefel signed an agreement to acquire 100% stake in Netherlands-based Bosch Sprang a supplier to producers of thermoformed rigid packaging parts.
Halletz said: "The range of services supplied by Bosch Sprang also perfectly matches Kiefel's portfolio as a manufacturer of thermoforming machines, while enhancing our ability to serve the highly demanding tooling needs of the premium segment."
