German carmaker Volkswagen has unveiled its new Polo R WRC Street concept car at the 2012 Worthersee event in Austria.
The new concept car, depicting the future of the carmaker's Polo GTI and adopting some features from upcoming WRC model, is powered by a 2.0litre TSI engine, generating a total output of 220hp.
According to the Volkswagen, if the ratio is continued all through the production version, then the Polo R is expected to deliver 40hp more than the Polo GTI, and about more 9hp than the Golf GTI.
Polo R WRC Street concept, featuring new small spoiler, multi-spoke alloy wheels and a sports suspension, will be launched as a production version next year.
