PPG Industries Has Published a New Architectural Glass Catalog

PPG Industries has published a new architectural glass catalog that features photography of 40 building projects, along with detailed descriptions and performance data for more than two dozen architectural glass products, including Solarban® 67 glass and Sungate® 600 glass, both introduced this year.

The 40-page booklet, last updated in 2010, also details two new online tools, the PPG Glass Education Center and PPG Glass eVIEW, which enables architects, glazing contractors and other industry professionals to search for, filter and visualize hundreds of potential glazing configurations to identify the best solutions for their projects.

The brochure contains an educational section on glass and energy management that explains how low-emissivity (low-E) glass such as Solarban and Sungate products can reduce energy use in homes and commercial buildings. It includes illustrations for terms such as visible light transmittance (VLT), solar heat gain coefficient (SHGC), light-to-solar-gain (LSG) ratio and U-value.

There also is information about other PPG products such as low-VOC (volatile organic compound) Duranar® architectural coatings, ultra-low-voc pure performance® paint, Pitt-Char® fire-protective coatings, Megaseal® hygienic flooring systems and ultraviolet-curable Raycron® coatings for wood floor finishing.

PPG is the first company to have its entire collection of architectural glass products approved through the Cradle to Cradle Certified (CM) program.
