Chinsan Benefit a Lot in The First Half of 2014

Passive component supplier Taiwan Chinsan Electronic Industrial will complete construction of its new plant in Guangzhou, China in the fourth quarter of 2014 with volume production slated to begin one quarter later, according to company chairman Chiang Shih-hsun.

First-phase production at the new plant, which requires total investments of up to NT$1 billion (US$33.35 million), will ramp up Chinsan's production capacity by 30% initially, Chiang said.

Since the third quarter is traditionally a peak season for passive component suppliers, Chinsan is optimistic about its prospects for the quarter, particularly buoyed by capacitor orders for the server and UPS applications, Chiang noted.

Powered by increased production of solid state capacitors at its plant in Thailand, Chinsan saw its revenues hit a high at NT$301 million in July 2014, its second highest monthly figure.

The company also reported net profits of NT$259 million or an EPS of NT$2.48 on revenue of NT$1.53 billion in the first half of 2014.
