There will be over 500 million smartphone users in China by the end of 2014, said Wang Xiangrong, deputy director of the China's State Internet Information Office (SIIO), country's Web regulator. 40% of Chinese will use mobile phone to access the Internet.
Wang Xiangrong said China accessed to Internet 20 year ago and became an Internet behemoth now. With the rapid development of Internet, China has become a fertile markrt with litmitless potential. The Internet has also facilitated new technological advances, products and business models as well as millions of jobs.
He said China had 4 million websites, 1.3 billion mobilephone users and 600 million netizens, which was far ahead. Up to June, mobile terminal has become the the most inportant Internet access in China.
Wang Xiangrong expected that China would ushered in the next growth of China's mobile Internet users due to universalized terminal, lower cost and improved infrastructure.
