Bosch Is All Set to Acquire The Assets of France-Based Tecsor Machines

Bosch Packaging Technology is all set to acquire the assets of France-based Tecsor Machines, which develops and sells machinery for making and filling polyethylene terephthelate (PET) containers for liquid and paste-like foodstuffs.

Bosch Packaging Technology division president Friedbert Klefenz said the acquisition of Tecsor will enable the company to further add to its activities in the area of liquid foods.

"The new machinery we offer will save our customers materials, energy, and costs. For its part, Bosch Packaging Technology will improve its chances in the market," Klefenz said.

According to Bosch, a machine developed by Tecsor uses a special blow-molding technology and can make and fill between 6,000 and 32,000 bottles per hour.

In October 2012, Bosch acquired German company Ampack, whose portfolio includes filling machinery for cups and bottles.

A thermoplastic, recyclable synthetic material PET is used to produce plastic containers. To shape the container from a PET blank, specially designed machinery and a thermo-molding process are used.

The process is the basis of the Tecsor business model and Bosch hopes to enter the machinery business for PET containers, in acquiring this process.

The parties have not disclosed the transaction value.
