Whole Foods Market Has Announced The Launch of a New Color Coded System That Rates Foods

Supermarket chain in the US, Whole Foods Market has announced the launch of a new color coded system that rates foods according to healthiness.

The new labeling system will help customers identify health foods within Whole Foods Market store locations.

In order to indicate the level of healthiness, foods are given a green, yellow or orange sticker in each product, allowing customers to choose healthier items while buying.

Items are estimated by sugar and sweetener content, whole grains amount, animal product content, calories and saturated fat, foodnavigator-usa.com reported.

Labeling is not given for items that do not meet healthy eating requirements.

The system, which is being tried out in select locations at present, is set to be launched across the country soon.
