The US State of Ohio Will Impose a Ban on The Sale of Powdered Alcohol Product

The US state of Ohio has passed a bill that will impose a ban on the sale of powdered alcohol product, Palcohol, across the state as it may cause health risks on consumption.

The Palcohol is a white powder, which when mixed with water can create an alcoholic beverage.

Earlier in April, the US Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) approved seven flavors Palcohol.

TTB, however, canceled the approval later over a technical issue with the package fill levels.

Ohio representative Jim Buchy said: "The public health risk of powdered alcohol is too great for our state to ignore.

"We have to do our part in putting forth reasonable laws that protect our children and prevent the availability of drug forms that have a higher potential for abuse."

The bill will go to the Ohio Senate for further consideration.

The New York Senate, along with Alaska, South Carolina and Vermont, has passed a bill to ban Palcohol.
