Urban Outfitters Are Planning to Offer Myne Collection in New York

American retailer Urban Outfitters will offer the Myne Collection, an apparel brand founded by Taiwanese designer Cecilia Tuan, at its New York City flagship store by the end of this year, the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) has said.

According to the TTF, Myne Collection was among the group of Taiwanese brands that were led by the TTF to the 2013 Blueprint Tradeshow in Singapore in May this year.

At the tradeshow, Myne Collection drew the attention of the representatives of the US firm and as a result Urban Outfitters will offer Myne Collection line in the North American market for the first time, Focus Taiwan reported.

Outside Taiwan, Myne Collection was first launched in New Zealand in 2010, and the brand has become widely successful there, TTF said.

After its participation in the 2012 Taipei IN Style exhibition, Myne has been able to expand in the Chinese market, too.

The Myne Collection offers two labels—Two by Two and Blacklist—which offer style, simplicity, quality and integrity. Urban Outfitters caters to the Indie-Rock culture and its products are popular on college campuses and are preferred by young consumers.

Besides Myne, Taiwanese apparel brands like Dleet, merchant bebe, biLbo, and Chun Ting Liu also benefited from the Singapore Tradeshow, according to the TTF.

The bagging of orders by Taiwanese brands shows that Taiwanese designers have the potential to excel even in overseas markets, the TTF said.
