Sato America Signed a Definitive Agreement to Obtain Argentina-Based Labels Maker Achernar

Sato America announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Argentina-based labels maker Achernar.

Sato America president Bob Linse said the acquisition of Achernar signifies their commitment to provide labeling and identification solutions to the southern region of South America.

"Our acquisition of NODOS in 2010 and now Achernar strengthens our business model of DCS and Labeling in the region. We are extremely pleased with this acquisition and welcome Achernar to the SATO team," added Linse.

Achernar general manager Maria Olcese said both corporations share a cultural and strategic fit, and the acquisition boosts its growth opportunities across the region.

Achernar produces a range of variable information, security, promotional and high durability labels for food, fruit, pharmaceutical, electronic, lubricant and other markets.

Sato America, a subsidiary of Japan-based Sato Corporation provides barcode printing, labeling, and EPC/RFID solutions.
