New Delta Robot Hardware Platform and Software Controller Was Unveiled by Bosch Packaging

Bosch Packaging Technology has announced the launch of a new Delta robot hardware platform and software controller, Gemini 4 which allows manufacturers to minimize the total cost of ownership of their automated production lines.

The hardware component of the new controller has a streamlined architecture and integrates standardized industry equipment from automation companies Bosch Rexroth and Beckhoff in Germany.

According to Bosch, the platform enables operators to run up to eight Delta robots and sixteen conveyors for efficiency gains.

The controller's streamlined design and software have been optimized for the control of Delta robots, helping to increase acceleration and pick rates. With this, manufacturers can raise their production line speeds by up to 25%.

Gemini 4, which has higher pick density and a smaller footprint, keeps manufacturers away from using multi-picking heads to enhance performance. The same head is being used regardless of the pack size or style, eliminating the downtime for changeovers.

The Human Machine Interface (HMI) of Gemini 4 can store instructions for the production of multiple products, which speeds initial set up and reduces changeover time considerably.

Bosch Packaging Technology Robotics product manager Roy Fraser said, "Innovations in the automation of the manufacturing process have driven down the TCO, allowing multinational brand owners and local enterprises alike to increase productivity and improve competitiveness."
