Distell Forms New Distribution Partnership with Stock Spirits

Wine, spirit and cider producer Distell has partnered with Stock Spirits to improve spirit range in the UK.

The partnership, which will take effect from 1 June 2017, will strengthen the relationship between the two companies.

Several new brand will now arrive to the Distell UK portfolio, including Amundsen Expedition Vodka, Zoladkowa de Luxe crystal clear vodka, Zoladkowa Gorzka, Lubelska, Stock XO brandy and Limoncè.

Stock Spirits said the UK remains an exciting market in the spirits category and both the companies plan to use the opportunity through its portfolio. 

Distell Europe managing director Fraser Thornton said: “The extension of our partnership with Stock to include UK distribution demonstrates their confidence in us as a business and our ability to support their brands and deliver growth in the future.

“Stock has an impressive range of brands which provides a strong complementary fit with our own portfolio.  This allows us to widen our reach across categories and improves our ability to service the needs of the UK trade.”

Stock Spirits International and Italy managing director Michael Kennedy said: “With our range of award winning Polish vodkas and Italian heritage brands, the UK is an important market for Stock Spirits and we are delighted to be partnering with Distell to help take our presence to the next level. 

“Distell has shown a huge amount of ambition in the UK and we are confident this will be a beneficial partnership for both parties.”

Distell, the South African spirit and cider maker is considered to be the second largest producer of ciders in the world. The company is claimed to have a strong portfolio in Scotch whisky category and owns three single malt whisky distilleries.

Recently, Distell constructed a plant in the African country Angola, with an investment of $20m to produce canned drinks. The investment will help in producing about 10 million litres of cider per year.

In last October, Stock Spirits acquired three spirits brands from Bohemia Sekt for €5m in the Czech Republic.
