America Unveiled a New Campaign Wednesday Called "Roll Together"

People for Bikes and Volkswagen of America unveiled a new campaign Wednesday called “Roll Together” that asks cyclists and drivers to be aware of each other on the road as National Bike Month begins.

People for Bikes and Volkswagen created a 60-second public service announcement to relay the message.

“No one is perfect. We’re all human, and we all make mistakes out on the road,” said Bruno Maier, vice president of People for Bikes. “This campaign is about acknowledging the fact that we can all do better, whether we are bicyclists, drivers or both. Let’s treat each other like we all know each other.”

In January 2012, Volkswagen of America signed a two-year $500,000 sponsorship deal with Bikes Belong, which is funneling the funds to three of its initiatives, including People for Bikes. The “Roll Together” campaign is one way in which Volkswagen is supporting People for Bikes’ mission to make America's roads safer for cyclists.

The "Roll Together" campaign was supported in part by the Paul David Clark Bicycling Safety Fund, a memorial fund started in honor of Paul David Clark, a San Francisco rider who was killed in a bike-truck collision in 2005.
