Rondo Expands Operations of Ejpovice Facility in Czech Republic

Swiss pharmaceutical packaging firm Rondo has expanded the operations of its facility in Ejpovice, Czech Republic.

The company has installed new die-cutting machine and gluing line at the facility, which will enable to produce around 700 million folding boxes and partition blanks per annum.

The additional investment will help the company to increase the capacity to 1.2 billion items in the medium term.

In October, the company commissioned a Bobst VisionCut CUT 106 LER die-cutter with an in-line separator at the facility.

In 2012, Rondo added an additional 6000m² production and storage space to the facility and Heidelberg production line for printing, die-cutting and gluing.  It allowed the company to produce up to 500 million packs per annum.

The company has invested in an automatic die-cutting machine with a separator to handle larger orders involving more than 20, 000 sheets.

It also invested in another gluing line, in addition to the new automatic die-cutter that will run in three-shift mode.

With a capacity to process larger blanks up to 110cm in width, the machine is said to avoid bottlenecks in production, helping to meet the demand for crash lock folding boxes.

Rondo is engaged in the development and manufacturing of folding boxes for the pharmaceutical industry.

The company produces anti-counterfeiting , child-resistant, clinical trials, serialization, tamper evidence  and wallet packaging solutions.
