Manganese Ore Shipments From Australia's Port Hedland up 38.54 Percent in March

In March this year, manganese ore shipments from Australia's Port Hedland totaled 183,000 metric tons, increasing by 245.70 percent from 53,000 metric tons in February and up 38.54 percent compared to the same month of 2013, according to the monthly data released by the Port Hedland Port Authority.

In March, China was the only destination for manganese ore shipments from Port Hedland, receiving 287.77 percent more manganese ore than in the same month last year. No manganese ore shipments were made from Port Hedland to the country in February.

Port Hedland handles production from mines owned by BHP Billiton, Fortescue Metals Group and Atlas Manganese in the manganese ore-rich Pilbara region of Western Australia.
