The LED Automotive Lighting Industry Has Seen Continued Growth in 2013

Specializing in the LED automotive lighting niche market and LED commercial lighting market, Laster Tech has benefitted from the continued growth of the Chinese automotive market. With more and more automobiles utilizing LED lights, the LED automotive lighting industry has seen continued growth in 2013. Consolidated revenue for Jan.-Oct. reached NT $1.34 billion (US $43 million), a yearly growth of 34.31 percent.

Traditionally a high season, after the Nov. to Dec. rush, legal persons estimate that total year revenue is hoped to reach NT $1.7 billion, an increase of almost 40 percent compared to NT $1.23 billion last year.

Laster received recognized revenue for lighting project from Jiuquan Iron and Steel Group in January for NT $200 million. It is estimated that total year revenue for LED commercial lighting will make up 18 percent, LED automotive lighting 70 percent and trade service 12 percent.

The company’s main source of revenue comes from LED automotive lighting. Belonging to the automotive component supply chain, unlike LED industry where 2Q and 3Q are known as the high season, revenue from the second half of the year is typically higher than the first half with 4Q being the peak. Looking at 2013 yearly revenue, by excluding special incidents in  January, monthly revenue performance for the second half of the year has been much better especially once 4Q begins. Total revenue for 2013 is hoped to surpass the company’s revenue target.

The company original estimated revenue goal for 2013 was NT $1.6 billion. However, from the current volume of orders, after the busy months of Nov. and Dec., total yearly revenue is hoped to reach NT $1.7 billion.
