Green Mountain Coffee Becomes a Member of Sustainability Consortium

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters (GMCR), a US-based publicly traded coffee brand, has joined the Sustainability Consortium (TSC) as a new member and will participate in food, beverage, agriculture, electronics and packaging working groups.

The food, beverage and agriculture sector is TSC's largest sector and includes consumer brands such as Kellogg's, MillerCoors and PepsiCo.

GMCR will also take part in the General Merchandise Committee where products for small appliances such as personal coffee makers are manufactured.

The company stated that it supports communities across the world by investing in sustainably-grown coffee and donating a portion of its profits to social and environmental projects.

TSC Working Group director Sarah Lewis said: "We are looking forward to working with the team at Green Mountain Coffee Roasters in both the development of measurement and reporting tools, and in expanding the scope of on-going innovation projects."

All the members are set to participate in Atlanta, Georgia for the Sustainability Consortium's Fall Member Summit scheduled to be held from 9-11 October.

GMCR is a specialty coffee and coffee maker and is well known for its innovative Keurig brewing technology and sustainable business practices.
