Heidelberger Launches New Rotary Die-Cutter for in-Mould Label Market

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen has introduced new Speedmaster XL 106-DD rotary die-cutter for the in-mould label market.

The new rotary die-cutter, which is based on XL technology, can be used for the production of in-mould labels and other elements of packaging.

In-mould labels are mostly used in the food packaging applications.

Speedmaster XL 106-DD is said to combine two production steps in a single machine. Its first unit will place the injection hole in the label for the subsequent production process with the support of a die on a magnetic cylinder.

The machine holds capacity to cut even the tiniest holes of 5mm diameter or more. The new die-cutter’s second unit can cut out the contour of the label from the sheet.

Speedmaster XL 106-DD will process foils and paper with thicknesses between 0.05mm and 0.3mm at a throughput of 6,000 to 10,000 sheets per hour.

The die-cutter will also be used to cut plastic or paper packaging elements such as POS items.

In April, the company announced the introduction of three new postpress machines for the packaging industry.

Promatrix 106 FC die cutter with hot-foil embossing, Promatrix 106 CSB die cutter with inline blanking and Diana Easy 115 folder are the new postpress machines.

Heidelberger provides products and services f or the customers in the printing industry. It portfolio ranges from prepress to postpress solutions for use in commercial and packaging printing applications.
