Collcap Has Secured a Grant of Around 70,000 Under The Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce

Cosmetics and perfume packaging company Collcap has secured a grant of around £70,000 under the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce Jobs and Growth Fund that will help the company further its growth plans.

The grant is set to help the company refurbish a business unit on the Leekbrook industrial estate that will provide them new office space, a technical suite and conferencing facilities, and is backed by the government's Regional Growth Fund (RGF).

The company produces packaging products for a number of high street brands such as Boots and has doubled its turnover in the past five years. However, further expansion was restricted because workers had to be based at two different sites, Cheddleton and Leekbrook.

Collcap general manager Neil Kinson was quoted by The Sentinel as saying: "The RGF grant of more than £70,000 is helping Collcap to provide the facilities we need to provide a better environment for our staff and facilities to help us work smarter.

"An open-plan office will provide a high quality work environment for our 35 Leek-based staff, and we are planning IT and conferencing facilities and a technical room where we can showcase new advances in equipment and processes."

The chamber of commerce's jobs and growth fund aims at creating jobs within Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. More than £3m has so far been approved in projects which is estimated to have created more than 900 jobs.

Collcap currently employs about 35 people in the UK and has a base in Hong Kong and representation in China and Taiwan. The company plans to move about 25 staff from Basford Lane Industrial Estate, Cheddleton, to the new premises in early 2015.
