Navistar Maxxforce 3.2l Engine Is Bebuted with Daewoo LESTAR Transit Bus

Navistar has entered into a diesel engine supply agreement with South Korean commercial vehicle manufacturer Daewoo Bus, at the 2012 Busan International Motor Show in Busan, South Korea.

Under the agreement, Daewoo Bus LESTAR light-duty transit bus, which has a capacity for up to 30 passengers, was unveiled at the show, equipped with the Navistar's MaxxForce 3.2 liter turbo diesel engine.

The company's MaxxForce 3.2 liter four-cylinder engines will power 6.0-ton GVW, 5.5-ton GVW Daewoo Bus brand light buses and also features four valves per cylinder and will comply with Euro III through Euro V emissions standards.

Daewoo Bus vice president Jin Gyu Kim said," These new engines will bring clean diesel power, fuel efficiency and reliability to our market-leading buses."

The new Daewoo Bus LESTAR model was built for the South Korean market as well as other potential global markets such as China, Latin America, former Soviet Union, the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
