HP Releases New Edition of Its Chromebook 14 Laptop to Include a Full HD 1080P Touchscreen

HP has released a new edition of its Chromebook 14 laptop to include a full HD 1080p touchscreen.

The latest version of the 14-inch notebook adds touch capacity to the range and offers 4G of RAM, rather than 2GB in the existing model. Still powering the Chrome OS device is the Nvidia Tegra K1 processor.

The firm is selling the new model for $439.99 (around £281) in silver and white colourings. For that expenditure, it’s not the cheapest Chromebook on the market, but is certainly one of the leaders in the spec department.

HP has not officially announced the new 1080p touch model, but is already selling it on its official website (via Android Central)

Earlier this year, the Chromebook 14 scored 7/10 in a review here on TrustedReviews. It scored highly for its comfortable keyboard, 3G support and attractive matte finish. It was marked down partly for its average screen quality, so our main concern has now been addressed by HP.

It’s not yet clear whether the updated Chromebook 14 will be on sale on UK shores, but we’ve given HP a nudge for more information.
