LED Lights Will Be Suitable for New Indoor Aquaponics Farm

LED Canada and GrowthStar LED are pleased to announce the successful partnership with Trader Hill Farms.

“LED Canada is becoming Canada’s largest manufacture and national wholesaler of GrowthStar's Advanced Horticultural LED lights.” said Rob Huston, Senior Technical Solutions Architect for LED Canada.

Traders Hill Farm, an aquaponics farm, in Hilliard, Florida, asked LED Canada to develop a LED light suitable for their new indoor aquaponics farm. Aquaponics is a sustainable food production system that combines a traditional aquaculture (raising aquatic animals such as snails, fish, crayfish or prawns in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment.

GrowthStar LED customized their ZA VegMax(TM) lights to suit the unique needs of the Trader Hill systems including the addition of LED IR emitters.

“In our aquaponics system, we use GrowthStar lights and they emit just the spectrum of light our plants use, with no wasted heat or non usable light. The lights allow a 24 hour growth cycle which maximizes the benefits of aquaponics. We love our lights from LED Canada for the effectiveness and cost efficiency they provide,” said Angela TenBroeck, President of Trader Hill Farms.
