Evergreen Packaging Launches New Line of Renewable Cup Stock

Evergreen Packaging has introduced new line of renewable cup stock with bio-based polyethylene.

The new cup stock, which is claimed to the first its kind, has been developed for both hot and cold applications.

The companies can convert the cup stock into cold cups for soft drinks and other cold beverages, as well as hot cups for coffee and other hot beverages.

It is a fiber-based (paperboard) product, which uses sugarcane-based polyethylene supplied by Braskem.

Evergreen Packaging global board sales managing director Chris Johns said: "Our new cup stock reflects the company's commitment to supporting our customer's business goals.

"It runs dependably and seamlessly like other forms of polyethylene coated stock. This allows our customers to offer a fully renewable cup without any change to their existing manufacturing process."

In May, Evergreen Packaging launched a new SmartPak carton to meet the increasing demand for different sizes in the market.

The SmartPak cartons have been launched in a new cross-section with 40 ounce, 48 ounce, 52 ounce and 59 ounce size options. It provides benefits in the areas of branding, sustainability, transportation and storage efficiencies.

Evergreen Packaging, which produces and supplies paper and paperboard products, has manufacturing facilities in the US, Asia, Central America and the Middle East/North Africa.
