The Flatbed Design Enables Digital Imaging of a Wide Variety of Plate Sizes

Digital color printing technology company Xeikon is all set to demonstrate the Xeikon 3030 in a roll to roll configuration at Propak Africa 2013, to be held from 12 to 15 March at the Expo Centre, Nasrec, Johannesburg, South Africa.

The first demonstration of one of its Xeikon 3000 Series presses at a major industry event in Africa will be along with the basysPrint 865x UV-Setter with increased flexibility.

The Xeikon 3030, which is the entry level press of the Xeikon 3000 Series, consists of five different digital presses designed for the label and packaging market, differing in speed and printing width capability.

The system also uses LED-array imaging technology, which combines true 1200 dpi resolution at 4-bit per spot.

Xeikon Labels & Packaging segment marketing and business development director Filip Weymans said the company's live demonstration of the Xeikon 3030 at Propak will enable Southern Africa's label converters to get close with digital label printing.

"Furthermore, the Xeikon 3000 Series can also be used for heat transfer and folding carton applications. This will be explained at the exhibition in Johannesburg," said Weymans.

basysPrint will also show how its single cassette UV-Setter 865x offers customers the choice of exposure resolutions of 1500dpi or 2400dpi.

The flatbed design enables digital imaging of a wide variety of plate sizes while dual plate loading offers production speeds of up to 145 plates per hour.

A vital fetaure is the modular design, where customers can start with the basic manual version and upgrade to either a semi-automatic or fully-automatic model depending on their needs and demands.
