Motor Vehicle Sales in Turkey Increased by 8.76% in Jan-Nov

In the first 11 months of the current year, motor vehicle sales in Turkey totaled 757,530 units, rising by 8.76 percent year on year, according to the Turkish Automotive Manufacturers Association (OSD). Meanwhile, in November motor vehicle sales in the country saw a rise of 10.63 percent compared to the same month of 2012, totaling 83,019 units.

In the January-November period this year, passenger car sales in Turkey amounted to 563,456 units, rising by 18.53 percent year on year. In November, passenger car sales rose by 22.60 percent year on year to 64,117 units.

In the first 11 months, Turkey's motor vehicle exports came to 763,472 units, rising by 14.81 percent, while its passenger car exports amounted to 441,670 units, rising by 17.13 percent, both year on year. The country exported 282,155 small trucks in the period in question, up 5.72 percent year on year. Revenues from total motor vehicle and component exports in the January-November period amounted to $19.76 billion, rising by 11.83 percent, while the revenue from passenger car exports totaled $6.33 billion, rising by 14.96 percent, both compared to the corresponding period of 2012.

In the first 11 months of the current year, Turkey's passenger car imports rose by 26.09 percent year on year to 438,550 units, while Turkey's total motor vehicle imports amounted to 523,179 units, rising by 20.09 percent year on year.
